Work Experience

Empresa Colombiana de Petróleos (Ecopetrol) 1990-2004

Project Leader

·          Led teams for optimization, expansion, design, construction and operation of surface facilities for oil and gas fields and produced water. Assessed the cost of production facilities for new discoveries.

·          Production coordinator for a heavy oil field producing 25.000 bbl/d of oil and 100.000 bbl/d of water both with ESPs and beam pumps.

Facilities Engineer

§     Designated by Ecopetrol to obtain the degree of Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa.

§     Worked as a production supervisor in charge of a group of facilities engineers and operators. Responsible for a water injection plant, six dehydration facilities and one oil pumping station.

§     Worked as a production operator in an oil field with water injection and nearly 1000 wells between injectors and producers (beam pumped).

Currently:

·          Working in his PhD. Research. University of Tulsa / TUSTP

Areas of Interest

·          Multiphase flow modeling, multiphase separation, surface facilities design and optimization, produced water treatment and disposal.
