Research Assistant- Jose Lopez

Jose Lopez received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela (2000). Following his graduation, he joined the Thermo-Fluids Department at Universidad de Carabobo working as a Lecturer Faculty (2001-2010). In 2005 he joined the Tulsa University Separation Technology Projects (TUSTP) as a visiting scholar carrying out multiple experiments on multiphase flow in compact separator and multiphase flow in pipes. He enrolled at TU as a Ph.D. student in spring 2008. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate working with TUSTP as a research assistant on a TU-CoRE project on “Theoretical and Experimental Characterization of Multiphase Flow in Downcomers. He is expected to graduate date is spring 2011.

Teaching Assistant 1997-2000.
Coordinator of Equipment Maintenance During Refinery Plant Overhauls. 2001. SIMACA CA., Venezuela:
Professor at University of Carabobo, Venezuela, 2001-2010.

Areas of Interest: Liquid-Gas-Solid Separation Process, Multiphase Flow Phenomena, Modeling of Swirling Falling Films and Jet Entrainment, Downcomer, Compact Separators.
